Our Mission
Nurturing Heritage for Future Generations
The White Rock Museum and Archives serves as a hub for celebrating our community and preserving its rich history. Through dynamic exhibitions, engaging events, and a continually growing collection of artifacts and archival materials, we strive to bring local history to life. Our mission is not only to interpret and share the stories of our past but also to inspire reflection on how these histories shape our future. By fostering a deeper understanding of our shared heritage, we aim to connect visitors with the enduring spirit of White Rock and encourage thoughtful dialogue about the legacy we leave behind.

Train Plaque Program

The Train Plaque Program offers a meaningful way to celebrate milestones or honour loved ones with a personalized tribute. Participants can purchase an engraved brass plaque that will be set in a paving stone and installed on the plaza outside the White Rock Museum & Archives. The plaques are installed once a year, creating a timeless connection to the community’s history.
Each plaque costs $1000, and purchasers will receive a $500 tax receipt. To participate, simply provide your inscription and contact details, and complete your purchase through PayPal. Payment can be made using a credit card or PayPal account. PayPal will issue a payment receipt, and the Museum will send a tax receipt upon confirmation. For more details or assistance, contact the Train Plaque Coordinator at trainplaques@whiterockmuseum.ca or 604-541-2222. Leave your mark on White Rock’s history with this unique opportunity.

Land Acknowledgement
To acknowledge the land on which we stand is to recognize a truth.
We acknowledge and respect the se’mya’me (Semiahmoo First Nation) on whose traditional unceded territory the museum & archives stands and who have lived on this land for thousands of years. Museums have played a role in colonization, and it is important to recognize the harm of past practices and to strive to do better in the spirit of reconciliation.
